Dr Tania Kalsi — Founder, COPE

Dr Tania Kalsi is an esteemed Consultant Geriatrician in London. She has worked locally, nationally & internationally driving better care for older people & system transformation. Her particular interests are in community, care homes & Geriatric Oncology.

Clinician, Academic & Innovator

Academic Recognitions: Dr Kalsi earned her MD from King’s College London in 2016, after completing board certifications (CCT) in Geriatric and General Internal Medicine in 2014. She is an Academic Reader (Hons) at KCL, with peer reviewed publications and more than 600 citations & an NHS England Clinical Entrepreneur.

Research Leadership: Her work on the impact of Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment (CGA) on chemotherapy tolerance has been widely cited—helping shape how oncology services across the world address older patients’ needs.

System transformation leadership: she has development oncology, community & care home transformation locally & influenced national & international changes in improving care of older people.

GOLD Service Excellence: Dr Kalsi spearheads the award winning Geriatric Oncology Liaison & Development ("GOLD") service.

National Recognition: Winner of the BMJ Cancer Team of the Year (2017), Macmillan’s Professional Excellence Award (2018), and BMJ National Book of the Year in Oncology (2016).

Leadership in Clinical Innovation: she championed initiatives across community, care homes and integrated oncology pathways.

Dr Kalsi is in demand as a speaker and advisor on geriatric oncology & community & care home medicine with a reputation as a leading voice in the care of older people. She presents regularly at national & international events. She has regularly worked as faculty in international Geriatric Oncology preceptorships, including for SIOG & ESMO.
